I am no longer with the TOTA HOA Board and I don’t do their website or newsletter anymore. I’d rather be with people who are moving forward both physically and mentally. Enough said!!!
The totanews.net website is an Earthlink application using Trellix. It does require someone with administrative
knowledge to maintain the site properly. I am a web administrator and understand
the ins and outs of web design and a little development so it was easy for me to take over last year with the redesign. I recommend the Tripod free or $4.95 version because it requires no design or development
skills. You just have to be someone who knows what good work looks like. It’s similar to putting together a power point presentation. You check to see whether the words are spelled correctly and it’s aligned right. That’s basically all you do for this kind of website.
I work for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in the Security and Counterintelligence Directorate at Ft Belvoir. I do Information Assurance focusing on cyber security, e-learning and web development.
There is a lot you can do with a website and it just takes a little imagination.
On the NOVA site I’ve included the things Pat asked for on neighborhood pride and community improvements. I belong to the Community Association Institute (CAI) - a community of interests for
HOAs and community associations like the NLG. I’ve added some of the things
they highlight throughout the year. They publish two magazines, Common Ground
and the Washington Metro Chapter, Quorum. You can find information on their website. The cost to join is $124 per year. The CAI website.
The Website contains Best Practices reports from the CAI: The Reports are in pdf format.

Instructions for starting and
using Trellix to create your website.
If you would like my help getting
started just drop me an email at prrbronx@yahoo.com. As a starter I will make your “Welcome Logo” and create
the picture with a drop shadow. The other good thing about Tripod is you don’t
have to purchase any expensive web tools.
Enjoy, pat
